Oatmeal Citrus & Honey Soap
16 oz Translucent Glycerine Melt & Pour Soap Base
16 oz White Glycerine Melt & Pour Soap Base
Sweet Orange Essential Oil (approximately ¼ oz, depending on desired strength)
Orange Body Safe Liquid Dye (10-12  drops or to desired color)
1 TBSP Honey
¼  Cup Oats
Plastic Soap Mold

Directions:
Cut block of translucent soap base into chunks and place in a microwave-safe container (preferably one with a pour spout). Heat in microwave at 30-45 second intervals, stirring occasionally.  Melt completely but be careful not to scorch.  Add colorant, fragrance, honey and oats.  Pour into mold and allow to cool completely.  (As it cools, it’s likely that the oats will sink to the bottom and may not be suspended throughout the entire bar of soap) Once cool, remove from mold and cut into small chunks (1-2” pieces, can vary in size/shape).  Refrigerate chunks for at least 15 minutes.  Then arrange them as desired in your mold.

Repeat melting process for white soap base.  Additional fragrance may be added if desired.  Pour white soap base over the chilled colorfull chunks and fill mold.  Allow to cool completely before removing the bar and your soap will be ready to use!

Fruit & Honey Lip Balm
1 Tablespoon Beeswax
1 ½  Teaspoon Honey
¼ cup Carrier Oil (Jojoba, Castor or Sweet Almond)
15-20  Drops Essential Oil (Tangerine, Orange, Lemon or Lime)
Lip balm containers (small metal tins, glass jars or plastic containers are ideal for this balm)

Directions: Using a double boiler or a sauce pan on low heat, melt the beeswax, carrier oil and honey together.  When the beeswax melts completely, remove from heat. Stir in the essential oil.  Place the pan in an ice-water bath and stir the mixture with a whisk for about 45-60 seconds.  The ingredients will blend together and thicken.  Scoop the mixture into your containers, cover with lid and allow the balm to set for a few hours before use. Recipe will yield approximately 10  ¼-oz containers of lip balm.

Three-color Rolled Beeswax Candles
3 8”X16” sheets of dyed honeycomb beeswax
Wicking: Flat braid 15 ply or Square Braid #1/0
Heat gun or hair dryer

Directions:
Prepare a work station with a flat, clean surface for rolling candles.  Cut each sheet of beeswax in half so you have 8”X8” squares.  Then cut each sheet into three even strips (approximately 2 1/2 “ X 8”).  Line up three strips of wax in the order you choose and bind them together by gently warming each edge with a heat gun or hair dryer and pressing them together at the edges.  Be careful not to completely melt the wax.  Gently warming it will make it pliable enough to attach one color to another.  After this step, you will have a square approximately 8”X8” and will be ready to roll your candle.

Measure about 9” of wicking and press into the sheet of wax about ¼” from the edge.  Leave a little extra wicking on both ends.  Fold the edge around the wick and begin to roll the sheet of wax.  Warm the wax when necessary to make it more pliable.  Once rolled completely, trim the wick and your candle is ready to use!  With 3 sheets of beeswax, you can make 6 standard size taper candles.

Purple Haze Lavender Soy Candle
Soy Wax-Container Blend
Container (Glass jar, tin)
Cotton Core Wick: XS(1" diameter), S(1"-2" diameter), M(2"-3"diameter), Large (3"+diameter)
Lavender Essential Oil
Purple or Raspberry Liquid Eco-Friendly Candle Dye (raspberry pictured below)
Wick Tab
Wick Bar
Mold Sealer putty
Metal Pouring Pot
Thermometer

Directions:
1)Using a double boiler, melt wax in a metal pouring pot.  Melt until wax liquefies completely and until there are no remaining chunks of wax. At this point, the temp might be a little higher than the desired pour temp. Wait a few minutes and keep an eye on the temperature.  The desired pour temp is 125ºto 150º

2)Prepare containers: Secure wick to the bottom of the container with a wick tab and a small amount of mold sealer putty.  Secure wick at the top of the container using a wick bar.

3)Optional Tip: warm containers prior to pouring the candle.  Place containers on a cookie sheet in the oven at 150º for 5 minutes.  A warm container will prevent the candle from cooling too quickly and reduce the chance of shrinking or cracking.  Turn oven off after containers are warmed up and put poured candles back in the oven to cool slowly.

4)When wax is melted and containers are ready, add desired amount of fragrance and colorant.  A recommended amount of essential oil is about ¼ oz per pound of wax and for the dye use approximately 10-12 drops per pound of wax.  Natural waxes like soy tend to absorb both color and fragrance so when it cools it will not be as strong in color/scent as it is when you first blend them in.  Use a dropper and record your measurements so next time you’ll know to add more/less.

5)Pour wax into containers.  Keep a little bit on reserve in the melting pot in case there are any holes or cracking around the wick or sides.  Re-melt the reserves and fill the holes once the candle has completely cooled.  It’s best for candles to cool slowly so leave them in a warm room or put them back in the oven(turned off-see optional tip #3)

6)Once the candle has cooled completely, it is ready to use.  Trim wick to about 1/8” and re-trim before use when necessary.
